Who’s going to Magic?

Magic will be held in Las Vegas August 27-30, 2007 (Mon-Thurs). Who’s going? Miracle will be there. She was supposed to announce it already. I know a couple of other people said they were going but I don’t remember now who they were. Leave a comment please.

Speaking of shows and attendees, Graham is at Outdoor Retailer. He says to email him if you want to meet. Maybe we can get a trip report from him. If you’re in anyway connected to active or performance apparel or related sewn products, Outdoor Retailer must be on your radar. Their winter show will be January 23-26 in Salt Lake City UT. I was sure that OR has a magazine but I can’t find a link to it on their site.

One of our members is launching at Moda Manhattan this week. TBA: a trip report from the attendees.

As ever, for the latest on shows and events, see the calender on Infomat. Search for shows based on product type or by month. I reiterate, don’t show at an event if you haven’t attended it previously. Use the calender to see which upcoming shows look interesting, those at which you might be interested in showing.

I will be visiting Magic on either Monday or Tuesday to walk the floor and to source. I went to Magic to check and see if I wanted to show there in the kids section and I felt it wasn’t worth it. I have also exhibited at Bubble NY and I walked the floor at ENK Children’s Club NY so if anyone has any questions regarding those two shows or my feelings about Magic Kids, just let me know and i would be happy to answer.

I’ll be exhibiting at POOL and walking MAGIC on the last day and I’d love to meet up.

If there is interest I can make a POOL report from the exhibitor’s point of view.

I will be premiering my eco-friendy infant line made from Bamboo and Oganic Cotton at MAGIC! This is our first time so we are excited and anxious!! (Needless to say I am new to this site as well)

Magic is my first trade show. I will be there all week with Promom Couture. I am starting my own label (logan designs, young contemporary), so sourcing is my focus. Any tips? I have already made a list of questions to ask and not to ask – thanks to your book and this forum – and plan to attend several seminars.

I’ve decide to wait till Feburary to go. After paying for the trip I would not have enought money to make samples. I’ve found what I need through a few reps locally. Since my first season will be mostly basic pieces, and the fabrics I got are very good quality.

I will be there Mon – Wed…walking the show with my amazingly talented intern Carol and meeting up with some of my wonderful customers. If there is a get together please let me know. I am scoping the show to see if we want to have a booth in sourcing or printsource. We also plan to attend the ECO show to show our solidarity and to attend the panel discussions about organic/eco fibers.

okay, it’s official. I’ll be there too. I look forward to meeting up with everyone. I come in sunday night and depart wed afternoon. Plan on dinner mon/tues if you want to meet. If you know veggie friendly places, so much the better.

This reminded me, is anyone attending Portland Fashion Week this October? I’ve never been, but plan on going this year, I’d love to meet up.

    Hi Kathlee,

Could you share your comments on ENK Children’s Club and Bubbles? For a new line, which show do you think it’s more worth it to exhibit at?

I agree with you comments on MAGIC Kids, it was so quite, so dispersed, that I don’t think it would be worth a new line to be there.
