Shop cat

This is the little-lover who greets me when I come to work each day. Her name is Mommy. She’s 11 years old. She’s the mother of the kittens you see at the close of my video.

I’m reading this book by Ellen Dugan called The Enchanted Cat (highly recommend it to cat lovers) and she says that tuxedo cats are the most friendly of cats and are the best mouse catchers. And I’ve found that to be true. I have a tuxedo cat named Bootsy and he is very close to me, sitting in his chair every day next to my sewing machine. And I have a solid black cat who stays 100 yards away from me at all times.

OMG, what a cute kitty! I would love to bring Dommie, my tuxedo cat, to work with me. Domino, also known as The Dominator, also known as Velcro Kitty, who gets distraught if I do something dreadful like stand up and walk a foot away from him! If I don’t pick him up and carry him when he wants me to, he starts swarming up me. And he desperately needs to supervise all sewing, preferably from my lap, even when I’m flailing Ridgilene under the sewing machine.

The really good thing about a tuxedo cat, besides the boundless love, is that there’s always cat hair to contrast with whatever fabric you’re using at the time.

I don’t have a lot of mice in my place, but he’s certainly the best at stealing small vital tools (preferably highly valued seam rippers, 6″ rulers, and tiny screwdrivers), and jewelry – he’ll put his paws around my neck, give me a kiss, and try to pull my necklace off or my earrings out.

Your Mommy cat is adorable. I also have a Tuxedo Cat that I’ve had since he was given to me as a stray. His name is Kitty Boy and he is the nicest cat I have ever had. We love him so much and he loves our dogs and they love him. Also he will stand in the bathtub and let me wash him just like the dogs. soooo cute

We had to put Mommy to sleep today. She’d fallen in the night and hurt herself. It was time; almost 20 years old, she was nearly completely deaf and blind. She was a pistol.
