Kathleen, after reading the blog post and your letter, I just want to say that I understand all too well your sense of pain that the activist groups you've supported did not seem to be able to move beyond ideology. I fear that this is the legacy of the "us vs. them" mindset that has been so pervasive in the public sphere. This seems to be independent of the basic orientation. Liberal vs conservative, believers vs nonbelievers, rich vs poor, Red vs Blue... on and on and on. Sometimes I wonder that anybody can talk to anyone.

At the same time... congratulations on a letter well written. I do hope that you might get a cordial response. Whatever else, pls keep the marvelous community of F-I going.
