I've been working out my General Certificate of Compliance (section 102 of the new legislation); I found this FAQ that I haven't seen elsewhere; it may be helpful to others (I hope).

http://www.tid.gov.hk/english/aboutus/tradecircular/cic/americas/2008/files/ci5982008a.pdf

It specifies the Regulations to which all textiles are subject.

You might also like to research your specific industry at the CPSC's pages for the two primary Acts (Flammable Fabrics Act and Federal Hazardous Substances Act) -- for me, for example, I found an advisory issued in 1975 re: baby carriers, stating they are not subject to the FFA, only to the FHSA.

At Corky we've researched how to provide retailers our Certificates of Conformity for compliance with the CPSIA lead regulations. It appears an on-line copy is adequate as opposed to a paper copy. Just today we posted a couple of certs on-line at corkycompliance.wordpress.com and will be getting the rest up over the next couple of weeks.

On our packing lists and invoices we're printing the following:

"The products sold under this invoice comply with the lead content and lead surface coating requirements of the Consumer Protection Safety Act of 2008. The General Certificates of Conformities can be found at this web address."

I'd be interested in any comments, criticisms or suggestions for improvement. Thanks, Alan

Awesome Alan! Think I'll do the exact same thing once tested.

Thanks for giving me direction! Your example makes it so much simpiler

Thanks for the feedback. Nothing negative, so we're going to plow ahead & start uploading. It gets us compliant for 2/10. Now we'll wait for some rule making to determine our strategy for 8/14.

BTW, we used the XRF gun to pre-qualify our fall samples so we don't paint ourselves in a corner. Design has some button changes to make!

Also, when I set up the wordpress blog, I selected to block search engine indexing with a robots.txt file. It's a simple option provided by wordpress.
