I am looking for a resource that quotes exactly how many children have been injured or killed due to lead exposure via toys/childrens products. (not environmental lead exposure) I can find nothing. Has anyone here seen this documented anywhere?
It's frustrating that every article I've read mentions the high numbers of toys that are recalled for excessive lead, but I can't find a single source that actually details how many children have been impacted.
I did find this article from December 2007 where Obama said he would like to completely ban toys manufactured in China. I wonder if he still feels that way. If my vote counts, I say we go with his idea and forget all this CPSIA nonsense.

Clothing recalls because of lead. |
Interesting. Most of these are notions - I wonder where they are from? Did injuries prompt the recall or was it just the actual snap/eyelet, etc. |

one of my legislators is saying that children have been harmed from lead exposure from children's products produced by small manufacturers. i've asked him for a cite, but am not holding my breath. (his letter to me seemed to thnk I had asked for a small business exemption which I did not.) |
