Well. Huh. I think I’m happysad on this. Happy because it’s not always me, sad because I feel…I don’t want to say stupid, but I’m not sure how else to put it, for assuming the pattern is right. I’ll have to add “walk the pattern before sewing” to my list of pre-sewing steps, along with pretreat the fabric. Are there any seams that are more likely to have issues? Like princess seams, arm scye, etc?).

Obviously it’s very tedious and they have to be cut perfectly so I am very discerning about placement and usage.

A notcher is on my list of things to get soon, I promise :)

Working for myself I do it because I’d be mortified if a customer’s contractor found errors.

Mary: Tip of the iceberg… I don’t know what it is but a culture of reproducibility seems to be absent there. As such, none of the best practices and hallmarks are employed. That said, I can’t begin to tell you how many pitches I get to subcontract my pattern services there.
