Archives 7/30- 8/5 2005-2009

Has everyone been keeping up with Project Runway? I was very gung ho last week and resolved to finally start watching it …but I’ve only made it through 2/7ths of the first episode. Don’t tell anyone. I have to watch it online though, I don’t have a TV. From what I’ve seen, Valerie is looking good, she hams well for the camera. On the other hand, I won’t be embracing the crooked zipper anytime soon. What’s your take on the show? You guys probably know better having watched it longer.

The monsoons have started in the Southwest bringing well timed respite. You know it’s monsoon in New Mexico when the paper comes in plastic every day. I check the temperature anyway and I laugh ha ha ha because we’re guaranteed a rainy treat nearly every afternoon. It cools so nicely and makes weed pulling so much easier with the soil so damp.

Enough preamble, and as ever, here’s the run down of entries published on this site over the past five years if you want to catch up. There’s still more in the archives. Have a great weekend.

Project Runway reminds me of that movie,They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?. I would shoot myself if faced with that much stress. I am either amazed the contestants can do such good work or that they can do such ugly work. Mainly I am glad about the show because our student enrollment went WAY up after the 1st season.

Ken, that is a great reference. I would probably have a heart attack if I was on that show. It always seems so hopeless and last minute for some of the contestants!
