Sad news this week. Designer Alexander McQueen has died, a suicide. He was 40. How profound his despair must have been for his loneliness to have outweighed his aspirations.

Resolve to smile and say a kind word to a perfect stranger. It may be the only one they hear all day.

    Everyone has been talking about such a loss his death has been, and while it may be a good eulogy that so many people will miss his presence in his career, it is still impersonal. Poor man!
